Editorial: Trust, value systems and governance in collaborative networks

چکیده
Various recent developments in Collaborative Networks (CNs) attempt to model a number of aspects that are characterized by an inherent imprecision and incompleteness of information. In fact, collaborative networks are complex entities whose proper understanding, design, implementation, and management require the integration of different modeling perspectives and techniques. Perspectives related to behavior and decision making in face of incomplete and imprecise information are particularly difficult tomodel.CNs involve a large number of autonomous and heterogeneous entities—organizations, people, systems—oftenwith: (i) different value systems, and therefore different perceptions of value and importance/priority of things, and (ii) a behavior that is influenced by factors such as emotions, preferences, working habits, ethical values, level of trust, competences, etc. Some of these aspects have a socio-organizational and anthropocentric nature that is difficult to capture with traditional logic modeling approaches. Complementarily, new reasoning and decision making approaches are being developed resorting to qualitative reasoning and computational intelligence methods. The aim is to offer better approaches to understand and govern collaborative networks in order to maximize the benefits and reduce the risks of these organizational forms. This special issue comprises a selection of papers from the PRO-VE’07 conference, representing examples of relevant work in this direction. The PRO-VE conference series, spon-

DisTriB: Distributed Trust Management Model Based on Gossip Learning and Bayesian Networks in Collaborative Computing Systems
The interactions among peers in Peer-to-Peer systems as a distributed collaborative system are based on asynchronous and unreliable communications. Trust is an essential and facilitating component in these interactions specially in such uncertain environments. Various attacks are possible due to large-scale nature and openness of these systems that affects the trust. Peers has not enough inform...

متن کاملMerging Similarity and Trust Based Social Networks to Enhance the Accuracy of Trust-Aware Recommender Systems
In recent years, collaborative filtering (CF) methods are important and widely accepted techniques are available for recommender systems. One of these techniques is user based that produces useful recommendations based on the similarity by the ratings of likeminded users. However, these systems suffer from several inherent shortcomings such as data sparsity and cold start problems. With the dev...

Introduction: Due to the complexity of health services, which require the engagement of different parties for the provision of integrated services, inappropriate network governance models can lead to financial conflicts, lack of transparency of accountabilities for medical errors, and difficulties on multi-professional team working. Therefore, this study aimed to examine factors influencing the...
متن کاملAgency, Structure and the Power of Global Health Networks
Global health networks—webs of individuals and organizations linked by a shared concern for a particular condition—have proliferated over the past quarter century. In a recent editorial in this journal, I presented evidence that their effectiveness in addressing four challenges—problem definition, positioning, coalitionbuilding and governance—shapes their ability to influence policy. The editor...
